We had no idea that Mariah Carey‘ was lugging around a secret boyfriend until early 2008, but perhaps we were just blinded by her butterfly rings and didn’t see him standing next to her. The mystery man is producer Mark Sudack, and he stuck by his emancipated gal pal for close to four years. He even worked on her recent hit album, E=MC2. So guess who was totally shocked by her whirlwind love affair and marriage with Nick Cannon? Yep, you guessed it. “He never thought she would go off and marry someone else,” a Sudack pal revealed to Us. “He’s heartbroken and shocked.”
Awwww. These two are still so adorable together! How long will that last? Nick Cannon rented out a Six Flags last night as a surprise to his sweetie, who rolled up to the amusement park in a black Rolls Royce. Inside was a party of super famous friends celebrating their recent spontaneous nuptials. The bash was allegedly supposed to go until midnight, and included Will Smith and Stevie Wonder on the guest list. But perhaps they were also celebrating a new addition to their (also new) family? Mariah and Nick are already supposedly creating a nursery, and one of the singer’s assistants called up fancy baby boutique Petit Tresor and asked about fabric samples featuring butterflies! “His plan is to have one [wedding] every year,” Mariah says of her new hubby, which is a great plan if you’re married to the top-selling female recording artist who’s got so much money, she flew her dog first class.
In addition to all those weddings, the couple are also planning on having children. Yesterday, Nick’s half-brother Reuben (who will surely be barred from talking to the press from here on out) said that the couple “definitely wants kids,” but that “both of their careers are crazy right now.” Mariah’s busy being Mariah, and Nick’s busy following her around.
There she is, our beautiful, spontaneous bride. We must admit, we’re WAY more into her recent wedding outfit than the contraption she wore when she walked down the aisle in 1993 with Tommy Mottola. People‘s got the inside scoop on the nuptials, and Mimi told the mag that she and Nick “are soulmates. ” I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me,” she elaborated.
From the looks of things in that bottom pic at the beach, it looks like they are definitely “mates” of some kind. Congrats Mariah and Nick! Or should we call you Marick?
Take this with a 17 carat grain of salt, but the NY Post is reporting that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are indeed engaged to be married. The ring, allegedly purchased by Nick, cost her man $2.5 million and was purchased at Jacob the jeweler. The massive rock is 17 carats and has a 10 carat stone surrounded by pink and purple diamonds (obviously - this is Mariah “Butterfly” Carey we’re talking about). No one even knew these two were together a month ago - including the happy couple. Maybe that means this marriage is meant to last? [NYPost]
Sooooooo that rock can’t really be from Nick Cannon… or could it? Nick himself didn’t deny the claim, and got a bit awkward when asked about the bling buzz yesterday. “I can’t even know what to say,” Nick stammered to MTV News. “She’s probably the most festive, remarkable person I’ve ever met.”
That’s not a denial! We were a bit skeptical about Nick possibly giving Mimi a giant rock, so we decided to examine the engagement ring he gave to his ex-fiancee Selita Ebanks after proposing in Times Square. We made quite a discovery! The rings are not only both huge, they look remarkably alike. If Mariah’s ring is from Nick, it’s obvious what kind of rocks he likes to buy his ladies!

Sure, her rep’s denying that they’re together, but they were just in Vegas last night acting chummy! And let’s be real - there’s nothing like celebrating a hit album with a little booty call, right?
