Huge congratulations to all the winners at the 2011 Do Something! Awards, which aired August 18 on VH1, especially to Sarah Cronk, the 18-year-old founder of The Sparkle Effect and winner of the evening’s $100,000 grand prize. Cronk (pictured above right with Glee star Lauren Potter) was in good company at the awards show, rubbing elbows with fellow winners Justin Bieber, Sophia Bush, David Beckham, and Will Ferrell, among others. The show featured musical performances from Demi Lovato, Foster the People, and OneRepublic featuring B.o.B. and some hilarious moments courtesy of host Jane Lynch — the full list and photo gallery of winners, plus a few shots of our favorite moments are after the jump.
Robert Goulet passed away last night. The ultra suave singer/actor dominated the early 60s, wowing the world with a string of musicals. Here’s a nice bit that shows his skills. But a younger generation learned about the guy – may he rest in peace – through Will Ferrell‘s ridiculous impression on Saturday Night Live. Here’s a look that clip, too. (Language is NSFW)
Cruising Funny or Die earlier, we came across this piece of video genius in which an infant cop forces Will Ferrell to sign a confession. The toddler is the daughter of frequent Ferrell collaborator Adam McKay. And she is mean. Swearing babies are hysterical.
Last night’s MTV Movie Awards bestowed golden popcorn on Johnny Depp, Sacha Baron Cohen and Jack Nicholson, among others. Host Sarah Silverman did her usual iron-fist-velvet-glove routine, especially when joking about Paris Hilton. (Amazingly enough, the heiress turned herself into authorities after the show ended). There were many highlights — like Rihanna‘s fetish gear spin through "Umbrella" and Amy Winehouse rocking "Rehab" — but our favorite was the man-love makeout session between Cohen and his Talladega Nights co-star, Will Ferrell. Enjoy. For all the backstage news and stuff you didn’t see on TV, check the scoop here.
