TMZ reports that Matt Barnes, the fiance of Basketball Wives star Gloria Govan, will receive no charges stemming from his September arrest. Matt was suspected of domestic violence, which he and Gloria both denied. After investigating, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office has concluded that there is insufficient evidence to prosecute Matt. Matt’s attorney, Tom Johnson, told TMZ, “We were confident that no crime occurred and we think [the D.A.] made the right decision.” [TMZ]

TMZ has obtained legal documents filed by Orlando Magic b-ball player Dwight Howard alleging that the mother of his child, Basketball Wives star Royce Reed, owes him over $500 million f0r violating a gag order. He claims she’s talked about him in the media 11 times, and estimates her words’ cumulative reach to be 1 million people. Per the terms of their agreement (apparently putting $500.50 on each impression), Royce owes him $500,500,000. It seems unlikely that he’ll get that huge of a sum from Royce, but what is certain is that now even more people will know about their situation, at least partially defeating Dwight’s purpose. A rep for Royce denies wrongdoing on her part. [TMZ]

In response to the speculation that Basketball Wives star Gloria Govan was the unnamed woman in reports of her fiancé Matt Barnes’ domestic-violence arrest on Wednesday, Gloria supposedly issued a statement to The Sacramento Bee via a publicist named Laura Wright:
“Any accusation of domestic violence are false. My fiancé, Matt Barnes, has never physically abused me or my family.”
This would seem to contradict Barnes’ prior claim to Sacramento’s News 10 that he is “the victim” of the situation. As if this situation weren’t confusing enough, Wright (who heads Avid Exposure) is not the same publicist Gloria had less than a month ago, when we last interviewed her (that was Dana Hill of Divine Marketing, who did not respond to our request for an interview or statement on this matter). Public figures change publicists all the time, of course, but it does nothing to keep the communication lines of an already nebulous story clear. We’ll see where this goes.
Update: We heard from Dana Hill, who is still representing Gloria. Laura Wright is Matt’s publicist, who is handling this matter.
In other Basketball Wives follow-up news, TMZ got their hands on a motion filed by Royce Reed against the father of her child, Dwight Howard. It alleges that Howard misses scheduled visitations with their son and requests a guardian be appointed by the court to ensure Howard stays on task and that she gets proper care. Two weeks ago, the pair were involved in a public back-and-forth at their son’s daycare center. [Sacto 9-1-1,TMZ]

Basketball Wives stars Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada have turned to (where else?) their Twitter accounts to respond to the earlier news of Matt Barnes‘ domestic violence arrest (see below). While their language is loaded with qualification, it’s at least somewhat surprising that they’ve stepped up to defend their on-screen rival, Gloria Govan. I guess when a conflict comes down between your on-screen rival and your on-screen-and-Twitter rival, whose side you’re on is really no contest.
One bonus tweet is below. It’s Matt Barnes’ probable response to the allegation. Interestingly, it is decidedly anti-synesthesia.

TMZ reports that in the last week of August, Basketball Wives‘ Royce Reed and Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard got into a tug of war of sorts over their 2-year-old son. On August 26, Royce called the cops after Dwight went to pick up the boy from day care, since it was not his designated custody day. He’d already left with the child by the time she arrived to confront him. Police ordered Dwight to return the boy to the facility, he did and Royce then picked him up. Royce’s spokesperson reported that the former couple’s son “was seriously traumatized by the unlawful actions of Dwight and his staff, and Royce will rely upon the Courts to prevent future incidents from occurring.”
If you’re salivating over getting to see this drama play out on the upcoming season of Basketball Wives, wipe your mouth — Dwight is not to be mentioned by name on the show (he wasn’t at all on the first season) per an agreement between him and Royce. It sucks, but you’ll just have to live vicariously through TMZ. [TMZ]

Word on the street (and by “the street,” I mean Twitter and gossip blogs) is that retired baller Eric Williams, husband of Basketball Wives‘ Jennifer and frequent guest on the show, has fathered another woman’s baby. The woman, whose Twitter handle is brandeb, apparently alerted Jennifer of this with a photo-attached tweet (how modern!) that read, “Here is a picture of your husband’s son in Cleveland, Ohio.” Definitely, definitely makes sense to tell something this over Twitter. Who needs talk shows anymore?
Additional tweets from Brande reveal, “The case has been in court for over a year now. I didn’t know he was married,” and “I found out he was married 5 months into my pregnancy. I saw your wedding on you tube.” Is Brande connected or what? When reached by the independent VH1iNFO Twitter account to ask about this matter, Jennifer tweeted the above, saying she doesn’t know who Brande is. That, of course, is Brande’s point…at least, we think that’s her point. We’ll be glued to our computers, watching how this thing plays and tumbles out.

Last week, a rumor circulated that Basketball Wives‘ Gloria Govan and her fiancé, Matt Barnes, had called off their wedding just weeks before it was supposed to take place. We reached out to Gloria for a comment and she didn’t get back to us…until now. Gloria tells us that while the wedding has been “postponed,” she and Matt remained committed to each other as they prepare to move from Orlando to Los Angeles (last month, Matt signed with the Lakers). “I’m sure to a lot of people’s dismay, this is nothing super dramatic. There was no infidelity involved, no window-smashing, nothing of the sort,” she tells us.
Below is a full transcription of our chat about her marital situation, including confirmation that they informed their families and friends of the postponement via text, why it took her over a week to respond to the report and why she’s possibly rejoining Basketball Wives for a second season, despite previously saying she wouldn’t…
