An argument regarding Ray J’s love life earlier in this season led to the major blow-up above, from tonight’s Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business season finale. In the end, Brandy chastised Ray for breaking up with Brittany Pena and for giving Brandy the cold shoulder before his performance, while Ray accused Brandy of being jealous of his success. Harsh! With the future of their sibling bond in question, it bears pondering:
In the interview above with Sex, Cameras and Hip Hop, amidst a steaming pile of frank sex talk (beware: NSFW language), Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business‘ own Ray J makes the following claim:
“This is how I feel about it: I don’t hang with stars, I create stars. So you know Kim was created, Cocktail was created and now I’m off to a new project.”
Clearly this talk is in reference to his sex tape with Kim and reality show (For the Love of Ray J) with Cocktail. What do you think?
On last night’s Basketball Wives…
…the girls went in on Royce repeatedly for being sick. Collectively, they are all as nurturing as a cup of chicken soup. It climaxed in a wine bar. See above.
On last night’s What Chilli Wants…
Via ONTD comes the Tumblr celebs that copy brandy, a collection of side-by-side shots featuring Brandy and the stars who rip her off. While it’s clearly joking (most of the time!), it does illustrate this great devotion that a certain segment of the population has for Brandy (who’s currently appearing on the second season of Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business). For so many R&B fans who were young in the ’90s, Brandy is it: their icon whose body of work stands up with divas double or triple her age. This Tumblr suggests that she’s also something of a unifying force in pop culture way beyond six degrees of anything, Brandy is like Patient (or is that Pop Star) Zero. [celebs that copy brandy]
On last night’s Basketball Wives…
…Evelyn and Ochocinco took their relationship that started on Twitter one step further: to Skype. Could a joint Tumblr be somewhere in their future?
Meanwhile, on What Chilli Wants…
On last night’s Basketball Wives…
…there was another fight in another restaurant, but this time it wasn’t between two Wives: it was between one wife and one (soon-to-be-ex-?) husband. The call is coming from inside of Jennifer and Eric’s crumbling relationship! How novel.
On last night’s Basketball Wives (as you probably know and have raged against in the recap’s comments)…
…Tami and Jennifer had an epic, public brawl over food stamps. Tami blamed it on her drunkenness; I blame it on her shoelessness. You remove a Basketball Wife’s shoes, you remove her power of discretion. Fact.
On last night’s What Chilli Wants…
You probably have already shaken your fists at the Gloria Govan ambush on this week’s Basketball Wives, but how about the other restaurant fight between Evelyn and Suzie? How much does that steam your windshield?
And on Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business…
On last night’s Football Wives…
…Dawn and Chanita got into it with Pilar, yet again. (Are they playing for sport at this point?)
On Basketball Wives…
Did you ever see the criminally short-lived HBO series The Comeback, which followed Lisa Kudrow’s Valerie Cherish character as she filmed a reality show that was all about her filming another show, the uber-cheesey Room and Bored, which marked Cherish’s return to the sitcom world? Since Brandy’s own show, Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business, this season is chronicling her time on another show, Dancing with the Stars, it’s basically a real life Comeback. Kind of amazing, certainly from a prophecy standpoint.
