“It’s short and it’s fun, it counts down from 10 to 1, it’s The Short List,” goes the theme to VH1′s new, abbreviated countdown show. And so it does, and so it is. The second episode ran down the list of the 10 Greatest Reality TV Meltdowns. Check out the clip above and the entire tally below…
Tonight’s episode of VH1′s brief weekly countdown show The Short List (premiering at 9/8c) focuses on a subject near and dear to our hearts: meltdowns on reality TV. Although some highlights from VH1 make the cut, of course, the scope of the countdown covers the whole of reality TV. With that in mind, we thought it would be fun to round up the 10 greatest VH1-only meltdowns that didn’t make the countdown. Come, take a trip with us down memory emotional-instability lane…
Daisy De La Hoya has taken to her Twitter to grieve over Corey Haim, with whom she was romantically involved in the weeks before his death, according to a source close to her. Yesterday morning, she tweeted, “I’m sooooooo devastated right now… This is the worst day ever I can’t believe this.” She followed that up with the message above and added today, “Early morning, interviews, I had hoped it could of been a dream…” According to the unnamed source, after being introduced to Haim via Corey Feldman, she and Haim went their first date two weeks ago and she became his “confidant over the last few weeks.” “Bawling and inconsolable” is nothing new for Daisy, whose reality TV career was practically defined by her waterworks, still, our sympathies go out to her as well as Haim’s family and friends. His life truly was tragic, but not more so than his death. [E! Online]
Update: Daisy has spoken to Radar about her association with Haim. “We just connected straight away, we had an automatic connection. I recognized that he was a lost soul, we had the same behavior patterns, we had a lot in common,” she says.

Straight-up: the best part of my job as VH1′s shows blogger is interacting with the on-air talent. So many of them are natural entertainers that every slip of the tongue and motion of the lips is an act of hilarity. Below, I’ve compiled my 20 favorite quotes and exchanges from the extensive interviews that ran on the blog this year. There’s wit and insight to be found, yes, and at times even poignancy. But more often, it’s just all entirely ridiculous. Hey, gold is gold, right?

This news has been around for a while, but a few comments on yesterday’s post about Daisy de la Hoya‘s recent birthday celebration reminded us of the unsettled resolution of Daisy of Love. So get ready for it, because this stuff is so resolved, it’s like upholstery.
In a MySpace blog post that was deleted and then re-posted, Daisy gives the rundown on her status with London. She says she fell in love with him on the first day of filming, and after the show wrapped, she had high hopes that “we could have been the first ‘real’ couple to actually be in love off of one of these shows.” It all went well…until Daisy found out that London had gotten a girl pregnant recently enough that it was still an issue. Writes Daisy: “He insisted that he was in love, that I was his perfect girl, he would do anything to make it work, that it was all a mistake. And That He was Going To ‘fix’ it. Well Because he’s a broke ass artist he couldn’t ‘fix’ it… then he tells me she had a miscarriage… then he told me she was giving it up for adoption.. the lies just went on and on… But still I stood by hes side…”
Daisy de la Hoya celebrated her birthday in Chicago on Oct. 22, 2009. VH1 Blog’s correspondent Cindy Barrymore (responsible for the pictures of Daisy of Love contestant Sinister dancing on stage with Hammmer) was on hand to snap some shots and fill us in on the scene. Below is her account.
The night was much hyped as a birthday celebration for VH1’s Daisy of Love goddess, realty TV star Daisy de la Hoya. The venue in question was Enclave, a nightclub sporting a warehouse-like facade nestled in Chicago’s trendy River North district. There are some sources that say Daisy turned either 26 or 33 on October 21, 2009. What’s known for sure is that she hit Enclave for a paid appearance the day after…
Antonio Sabato Jr., revealed that his head is shaped just as perfectly as his abs when he sported a freshly shorn dome at the Fox Reality Channel’s Really Awards on Tuesday in Los Angeles (the show is set to premiere Saturday at 10/9c). The VH1 set attended in droves — what other event gives them the opportunity to be rewarded by their on-air behavior? Check the gallery below for red-carpet shots of attendees Megan Hauserman, Daisy De La Hoya, Rock of Love Bus‘ Ashley and Farrah, I Want To Work for Diddy’s Poprah, Glam God‘s Vivica A. Fox, Rock of Love 2‘s Aubry and Adrianne Curry.

Last week, Movieline posted a list of “the six most egregious reality-stars-turned-singers,” and while it included two VH1-rooted personalities (Brooke Hogan and Celebrity Rehab‘s Jeff Conway), not one member of the …Of Love universe popped up. For shame! The aspiring singers and rappers have provided some of the best musical entertainment VH1 has offered since…well, since VH1 regularly played music. (Just kidding! We still do! Sometimes!) Six of our favorites are below starting with…
Lacey Conner (Rock of Love) “This Thing Called Love”
Within minutes of the first episode of Rock of Love, Lacey jumped behind a drum kit and commenced annoying her fellow Bret-lovers with her infernal racket. But not even that could have prepared us for this synth-pop ditty and its curiously…curious video (directed by Lacey’s dad, Otis). Lacey’s played with industrial mega-band Pigface, which is kinda a big deal. The fact that this video has almost 10 times as many YouTube views as Pigface’s most popular video makes Lacey kinda a bigger deal…I guess?
There wasn’t a Daisy of Love reunion, but at least we have Twitter to keep up with the quite possibly still-on romance between Daisy and London. The above shot was posted on Daisy’s Twitter during a recent trip to New York (where London lives), and she also Tweeted about seeing his band, the Party Death. Also, it would appear that he he still holds a place in her heart (or at least in her less-than symbol and 3 key)…
They sometimes Tweet back and forth. It’s cute, really….
