One of the best parts about the Do Something! Awards was seeing just how many people participated in an event that raised awareness of so many wonderful causes. And yes, the celebrity guest list was insane, but there were plenty of people working behind the scenes to make sure everything went off without a hitch, from the rolling out of the blue carpet, to the rehearsals, to the reporters covering the show, it took a village to pull this show off.

And since we at VH1 had a lot of our villagers working backstage at the event, we have some pretty awesome photos from before, during, and after the show that you won’t see anywhere else. In our gallery below, check out rehearsals featuring Foster the People, blue carpet moments with Demi Lovato and Kim Kardashian, and Jane Lynch hamming it up next to…Jane Lynch.

Huge congratulations to all the winners at the 2011 Do Something! Awards, which aired August 18 on VH1, especially to Sarah Cronk, the 18-year-old founder of The Sparkle Effect and winner of the evening’s $100,000 grand prize. Cronk (pictured above right with Glee star Lauren Potter) was in good company at the awards show, rubbing elbows with fellow winners Justin Bieber, Sophia Bush, David Beckham, and Will Ferrell, among others. The show featured musical performances from Demi Lovato, Foster the People, and OneRepublic featuring B.o.B. and some hilarious moments courtesy of host Jane Lynch — the full list and photo gallery of winners, plus a few shots of our favorite moments are after the jump.

You just watched Demi Lovato bring the house down with her soaring rendition of “Skyscraper” at the 2011 Do Something! Awards. We don’t have much more to say about it at the moment, mainly because we’re still wiping the tears out of our eyes. We’ll try to regain our composure by the morning, but for now, we’d just like to share this video of the pinnacle of tonight’s show with you so you can watch it over, and over, and over again.

RELATED: Check out our exclusive interview with Demi from late last month, where she opened up to us about about the creative evolution of “Skyscraper,” shooting her own tear-strewn video with director Mark Pellington, and her dismay with the ubiquity of alcohol references currently in the Billboard Top Ten:

The 2011 Do Something! Awards don’t air until Thursday, August 18 at 9 p.m., but we were able to convince the show’s producers to let us share this awesome clip of our You Oughta Know artist Foster The People with you guys before tomorrow night’s premiere. The band performed two songs during the ceremony, Song of the Summer contender “Pumped Up Kicks” and (my personal S.O.T.S. pick) “Helena Beat,” with the same sort of enthusiasm and energy levels that have been winning them thousands upon thousands of new fans at music festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza.

In particular, their sound was significantly fuller than it was when they played the supremely catchy “Helena Beat” here at VH1 HQ a few months back during a stripped down You Oughta Know Live acoustic set. In their rambunctious Do Something! Awards performance, they employed not one, not two, but THREE guys to tackle the song’s whirring synth melodies, which certainly got the front rows of the Hollywood Palladium up, clapping and dancing.

In addition to being a dynamic young band, Foster The People are also committed to helping out in the community. This fall, they have agreed to partner up with Do Good Bus, which helps transports citizen volunteers to and from charity sites in cities all over the country.

To catch Foster The People’s rendition of “Pumped Up Kicks,” not to mention Demi Lovato‘s first-ever televised performance of her smash “Skyscraper,” be sure to tune into the Do Something! Awards, airing on VH1 this Thursday, August 18 at 9 p.m. (That’s tomorrow, folks!)

Earlier today we mentioned that Demi Lovato brought the house down during her performance at the 2011 Do Something! Awards, which were taped on Sunday night. Well, here’s a little teaser from that performance, including an introduction by Demi’s pal Kim Kardashian. It’s just a little snippet of what’s to come on Thursday night’s broadcast of the awards, but we’re getting chills anyway.

The Do Something! Awards air Thursday, August 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The 2011 Do Something! Awards were taped this past Sunday at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, and featured a plethora of amazing celebrities who were all on hand to support and recognize their charitable peers. One such celeb who happened to perform during the show was Demi Lovato, who totally killed it onstage, which is just one more reason to tune in to the show. Watch Demi’s plug for the show, which airs this Thursday, August 18 at 9 p.m. ET above, and retweet it using the #DSAwards hashtag. Demi also made our list of best-dressed attendees, and for a bonus peek at her onstage outfit, click below.

Who says the The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills aren’t charitable? Why, just this morning, we saw this (fake) public service announcement they made, urging the American public to do something about the ugly animals in our midst and get our nation’s pets the plastic surgery they so desperately need! After all, Jiggy needs some good-looking friends.

Of course Lisa Vanderpump and Camille Grammer aren’t that shallow, but who knew they could be that hilarious? The duo’s phony ad above is a promo for the 2011 Do Something! Awards which air on VH1 this Thursday at 9 p.m. ET/PT, so tune in to see all your favorite celebs honored for their do-gooding. In the meantime, be sure to check out the good, bad, and sometimes crazy fashions that everyone wore on the blue carpet at the show’s taping on Sunday.

The 2011 VH1 Do Something! Awards air this Thursday, August 18 at 9 p.m. ET. We’ve already shown you what everyone was wearing on the blue carpet tonight, but we have yet to pass along any of our sartorial assessments of who wore what. So, if your name is Tyra Banks, Adam Lambert, Zach Levi, Demi Lovato, Victoria Justice, Kim Kardashian, Amy Poehler, Charity Shea, Dax Shephard or Olivia Wilde, take a deep breath: You’re either on our Best or Worst Dressed list for this year’s Do Something! Awards. With that in mind, we’d like to pass along our fond “Congratulations! or sincere “Better luck next time!” to all of our finalists.

Dozens of celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian, Victoria Justice and Adam Lambert, gathered in Los Angeles on Sunday night for the annual Do Something! Awards, an event in which they were able to honor their peers and some of the most devoted young people in the country committed to social change.

The award show, hosted by Jane Lynch and featuring musical performances from Demi Lovato, Foster The People and OneRepublic featuring B.o.B, is taping tonight at the Hollywood Palladium, but will air on VH1 this Thursday, August 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. However, you don’t have to wait that long to catch a glimpse of all the celebs in attendance who walked the blue carpet tonight —and a few shots of rehearsals, too!— in our gallery below.

We’ve told you about the amazing list of celebrity attendees and performers who’ll be at the Do Something! Awards, (not to mention the return of host Jane Lynch), but we’re giving a special shout-out today to the Do Something! Award nominees themselves, the five young people who have made a huge difference in their communities and are up for the evening’s biggest award.

The nominees and the charities they represent are Taryn Guerrero Davis for The American Widow Project, David Schwartz for The Real Food Challenge, Sarah Cronk for The Sparkle Effect, Mark Kabban for YALLA (Youth And Leaders Living Actively) and Adam Lowy for Move for Hunger. Learn more about all five inspiring nominees in the clip above, and after watching, vote for your favorite here. The Do Something! Awards air on Thursday, August 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on VH1.
