The O Music Awards are set to go down on Monday night—yes, Halloween night!—beginning at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 PT. We couldn’t possibly be any more psyched that the Swedish pop goddess Robyn agreed to headline the second incarnation of this new awards show, and for her, the decision to participate in this event was a no-brainer. “I reach almost all my fans through the Internet,” she explained to us earlier this week. “I mean, I’m not played on the radio. I reach them through the Internet, and when I play shows.”

Well, considering this particular show will be broadcast LIVE on the Internet, that’s a double win for Robyn and her fans! Don’t forget, you can (and should!) watch the O Music Awards 2 by going to omusicawards.com at 11:30 p.m. ET on Monday, October 31. But if you visit the site over the weekend, you’ll still have time to vote for your fave artists in categories like Fan Army FTW, Best Web-Born Artist and many, many more!

If you’re bummed that Halloween falls on a Monday this year, thereby lessening the chances that the party that you attend will be an all-night rager, we have a message for you: Don’t be. (Bummed, that is.) Your friends at VH1 have a foolproof backup plan for you. Dress up in your Halloween finest on Saturday night, spend all day Sunday recuperating from your hangover, pass out candy to the little ones on Monday evening, then get ready for the main event, coming to you direct in the comfort of your very own living room. Because on Monday, October 31 at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 PT, none other than Robyn (!!!) will be headlining the O Music Awards 2! If you ask us, that’s even better than the Great Pumpkin showing up on your front porch. Full press release below…

What a whirlwind couple of days it’s been! We arrived in historic downtown Las Vegas late Wednesday afternoon for the O Music Awards and now, less than 48 hours later, it’s already time to leave. Boo!

Before we go, we thought we’d share a few snaps from last night’s festivities, in case you missed it. Some were taken by our friends at Getty Images, but we were also able to whip out our handy iPhone 4 to grab a few moments that the professional photographers didn’t catch. Like, for example, when we won $19 on slots! (Clearly, a personal highlight, but one we couldn’t resist sharing.)

One last thing: We managed to scoot away from our laptop in the press room JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME to catch this moment, which was pretty awesome (but not quite as awesome as when we met Rebecca Black). Hope you enjoyed our coverage!

Rebecca Black Interview at the 2011 O Music Awards from Mark Graham on Vimeo.

Well, well, well! It was quite the night at the O Music Awards; not only did we see Chiddy Bang smash the #RapWorldRecord for Longest Freestyle (9 hours, 18 minutes and 22 seconds!), but the house band, Matt and Kim, won themselves thousands of new fans with their energetic performances. It’s safe to say that Fremont Street in historic downtown Las Vegas hasn’t seen this much action since U2 shot their epic “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” music video back on April 12, 1987.

However, our personal highlight of the evening was when we were able to steal a few minutes of internet superstar Rebecca Black’s time, just moments after this evening’s extravaganza wrapped. We only had a few minutes with her and, in the interest of expediency, we uploaded our shaky, iPhone-shot interview with her straight to Vimeo. We pressed her on a few things, like whether or not she’s really going to record “LOL” as her next single and if the 13 year-old is going to hit the slot machines while she’s here in Vegas, but our highlight of the 2-minute interview was when we asked her if she was nervous before the cameras turned on tonight. “I don’t get nervous,” she replied with the kind of brazen confidence that comes after your video has been streamed 120 million times in six weeks. “I don’t see the point in it.” Swag!

Tonight, in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, the first ever O Music Awards are going down! Looking for a complete list of winners? Look no further! We’ll be updating this list all night long as the winners are announced, so keep hitting refresh ’til your heart’s content and things will make themselves clear. Remember, knowing is half the battle!

Chiddy Bang has been freestyling in an attempt to break the #RapWorldRecord for two hours and fifteen minutes now and, frankly, we’re exhausted just watching him. However, much to his credit, he doesn’t seem to be slowing down in the slightest. Seven more hours to go; hang in there, Chiddy!

As we observe Chiddy shout-out everyone from Chris Bosh to Elton John —we’re still waiting for him to comment on tomorrow’s Royal Wedding!— it’s time to hand out the latest O Music Award, this time for the Fan Army FTW. Big ups to MJJ Community, one of the world’s foremost Michael Jackson fansites, for their victory!

Don’t forget, only six more hours until the O Music Awards stream live on an internet browser near you! We’ve got performances from You Oughta Know artist Mumford & Sons and Matt and Kim, in addition to appearances by Rebecca Black, Ke$ha, and much, much more.

UPDATE (2:44 p.m.): And we’re live! … The Chiddy #rapworldrecord livestream is available below (slightly NSFW audio, so keep your headphones on!).

Hello from Sin City! We’re out here live in historic downtown Las Vegas getting prepped for tonight’s first ever O Music Awards ceremony. We’ve drank our coffee, washed the smell of cigarettes from our clothes and put last night’s epic losses at the roulette wheel (note to self: tonight, definitely take the wise words of Wesley Snipes from Passenger 57 to heart) firmly behind us as we gear up for what promises to be a monumental evening.

Tonight’s show will be streaming live on the official O Music Awards site beginning at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT, but we’re not waiting until then to get started. Earlier this morning, we announced the winner of the Best Tweet category; congratulations to Kanye West (who, truth be told, was the only person nominated in this category, because, DUH!) on the win. Even more exciting than that is the news that Chiddy Bang is going to attempt to break the Guinness World Records title for “Longest Freestyle Rap” today. In order to do that, he has to RAP FOR OVER EIGHT HOURS without stopping. And guess what? We’ll be livestreaming the whole thing, starting at 2:30 p.m. ET today!

Daryl Hall and Rebecca Black are two names that we never expected to occupying the same headline, but that’s just part of the beauty of the inaugural O Music Awards. Daryl is, of course, one half of the most popular successful duo in musical history —Hall & Oates racked up 34 Top 100 singles, including six #1s!— and, well, Rebecca has been internet famous for six weeks or so, during which time her “Friday” video has been streamed over 120 million times on YouTube alone.

Daryl just picked up his first O Music Award in the category Best Performance Series for his outstanding web-only broadcast, Live From Daryl’s House. If this show has missed your radar, well, now’s as good a time as any to catch up! Be sure and check out his recent collaborations with You Oughta Know fave Fitz & The Tantrums and one of this writer’s all-time favorite bands, Guster, to get a feel for the show.

And as far as Rebecca is concerned, a press release just hit the wires about her appearance on the show tomorrow night. Follow along for the whole shebang…
