Now You Can Create Your Very Own Pop Up Video!

Earlier today, we gave you a sneak peek at the very first of our new batch of Pop Up Videos, a trivia-loaded take on “Till The World Ends” by Britney Spears. Although Pop Up Video, the show, won’t be returning to the VH1 airwaves until October 3, you can start making your very own Pop Up Videos to share with your friends starting … NOW!

First step: Head over to our Create Your Own Pop Up Video page. From there, you’ll be able to choose from a library of over 60 music videos—which includes current hits like “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars and “Different” by You Oughta Know artist Ximena Sariñana, as well as universally acknowledged classics like “Been Caught Stealing” by Jane’s Addiction and “Empire State Of Mind” by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys—to make your own video. Once you authenticate with your Facebook login, you can start typing as many factoids and in-jokes as you can think of (heads up, there’s a 40 character max for each one of the Pop Ups you put in your video). You can see our simple (and admittedly corny) demonstration above, where we decided to call out the fact that Brooklyn’s Jay Street should be renamed Jay-Z Street, stat! Hopefully your jokes will be better than ours.

Once you wrap up your own personal Pop Up Video, the next step is to show off your pop culture savvy to all of your friends by sharing them on Facebook or embedding them on your blog. Create as many videos as you’d like. Who knows, maybe our crack team of Pop Up Video writers and researchers will call you up to the big leagues someday!

VH1′s long dormant but universally loved program Pop Up Video is set to make its highly anticipated return to the small screen on October 3. Yes, that’s less than a month away, but we’ve seen the first batch of new Pop Ups and we couldn’t wait that long to share them with you!

Above, check out the very first of the new Pop Up Video treatments, which are brought to you by Starbucks, for “Till The World Ends” by the one and only Britney Spears. Pretty soon, you’ll be able to create your very own Pop Up Video, too, from a library of videos that includes everything from Jay-Z‘s rousing anthem “Empire State Of Mind” to the

A little over a month ago, we announced that Pop Up Video would be making its long awaited return to the VH1 airwaves this fall. While we’re still waiting on an official premiere date from our friends in programming, we thought that we would share this with you guys: It’s the updated Pop Up Video logo!

Since we just did you guys a solid, maybe now you can do us one in return? Check out our brand new Pop Up Video Facebook page and, if you like what you see, feel free to “Like” us! Also, we’ll be using our Facebook presence as a way to get valuable (and, hopefully, hilarious!) content from you guys, the viewers, that we may end up including in the show itself. Just yesterday, we began working on our treatment for Britney Spears’ “Till The World Ends” by asking our fans “If the world ended tomorrow, I would _________ [fill in the blank].” Leave a comment and your reply just might end up on TV!

To help get you in the spirit, check out our old Pop Up treatment of Madonna‘s “Vogue” below (if you want more, check out this playlist, which also includes George Michael‘s “I Want Your Sex,” Paula Abdul‘s “Straight Up” and more):
