SNL alum Norm McDonald took to last night’s episode of The Tonight Show to present some jokey potential reality show vehicles for himself. One was Rock of Lust, a Rock of Love parody that used footage from Rock of Love Bus. Watch it in the video embedded below (it starts at the 2:30 point on the countdown timer on the inline player):

We asked Charm School dropout Farrah what she thought about Norm’s characterization of her as “one of the whoriest-looking whores I have ever seen in my life.” Farrah replied, “Norm McDonald should get with a whore like me. Another day, another Smashgate story. After releasing a statement via his rep, Bret Michaels himself has put fingertips to keyboard to give his take on the accident that left him banged up and party-free. He’s got a sense of humor about it and everything (our favorite parts are bolded). Says Bret:

“I am trying to remain very positive and somewhat humorous about the whole situation. I apologize that I did not make a statement earlier as I have been feeling pretty beat up over the last few days. The fact is I was honored to be asked to perform at the event. The entire Rock of Ages production were awesome and even though I was completely out of my element I was really enjoying myself prior to my injury. In fact all involved at the awards show treated me good.

I had a great time at the Tonys right up until I got blindsided, I must admit it was a little blurry after that. In hindsight, there is no doubt I got my bell rung, unfortunately it has been posted and perhaps funny to watch, but I can assure you it has been painful to experience.

Bret Michaels posted the above pictures of the facial injuries he sustained after his on-stage accident at Sunday’s Tony Awards. Additionally, his rep, Janna Elias has lashed out at the Tonys over Bret’s treatment. She’s also shed some light on what happened immediately after the incident. Sayeth Janna:

“With all due respect to everyone working the Tony Awards, somewhere down the line there was a lack of communication and the prop should have been immediately halted until Michaels was clear. Sunday morning at rehearsals, Bret was never informed that the descending set piece existed, let alone would be moving into position as he was exiting the stage.

Although Bret was visibly dazed, he remained extremely calm backstage as members of Poison’s road crew brought him a towel to wipe the blood from his face. His only comment at the time was, ‘What the hell just hit me?’ The severity of this injury is not being taken lightly as symptoms from head and neck injuries at first may seem like nothing and sometimes do not present for days. At this time, the full extent of his injuries remain to be seen until all X-rays are back…I find it surprising that a Tony spokesperson would brush off this incident with a comment stating, ‘Mr. Michaels missed his mark,’ with no mention of concern for his condition. If everyone at the Tonys were aware that Bret missed his mark, then they should have been aware enough to stop the set piece from hitting him or at least slowed it down until he cleared the stage. I feel had this incident happened to Liza Minneli, Dolly Parton or Elton John, the Tonys would have at least issued a letter of concern.” [BretMichaels.com via ONTD]

In case you’re in search of a status update on Bret Michaels‘ relationship with Rock of Love Bus “winner” Taya Parker, here’s something: Bret was interviewed by amNewYork, and he revealed that they’re together, but not serious. Says the piece:

“Bret Michaels may have narrowed down potential mates on VH1’s Rock of Love, but the Poison front man said he’d never expect to find actual love on camera.

‘It should be called Rock of Dating,’ he said at the Lipton Gift Lounge backstage at the Tony Awards…Michaels still sees recent winner Taya Parker, but only in a ‘fun’ way — and goes out with other ladies, too.

Hence, all that dating would make it hard to do another season. ‘If I was forced to do it again, I might,’ he says.”

Rock of Love’s Bret performed during the Rock of Ages segment at Sunday’s Tony Awards, and had a close call with the scenery. Check it above. People.com reports that Bret did not break his nose, as some reports suggested. At press time, he reportedly wanted to both get X-rays and hit-up some Tonys after parties, which sounds exactly like Bret. At least the party wasn’t knocked out of him, you know?

At this point, I’ve been to more VH1 reunion show tapings than I can readily count (although, maybe that has something to do with the legal stuff I’ve been taking). One thing that I can say with ease that I’ve never had more fun on set than I did a week and a half ago at the Rock of Love Bus reunion. Despite it being the third time around for this show, it was a genuinely exciting experience. I think the best way to explain it was that I had a party connection with this particular event, and without so much as a sip of alcohol. There isn’t a hell of a lot of drinking backstage of the reunions these days, anyway, and so this was like O’Douls’ answer to a kegger.

It was a rager of communication, and I chalk that up to the brilliant casting of this season. You know you’re as close to a natural habitat as possible when you wonder, “How is it that it took you this long to make it to reality TV?” after virtually every other conversation. Over the course of my day, Lady Tribe confused me with three different people, Brittaney Starr told me she wanted to hit one of the girls in the face, Brittanya made me define “philosophy,” Farrah schooled me on the dilemma of having “big t**s” after losing weight (”It doesn’t look like you lost weight because your t**s are still the same size”) and so much more! I’ve called things “insanely awesome” before, but this time I really, really mean it.

At last, it has come to this. For three seasons, a one-on-one, full-length interview with Bret Michaels has eluded us for all manner of reasons. Sure, he’s contributed to this blog (a few times, actually), but never before have we featured a man-to-man chat like the one below. And it seems like there’s never been a better time for it, with Bret’s future looking cloudier than ever. He announced in the beginning of Rock of Love Bus‘ run that this would be his final season. Is he standing by those words? How does he feel about Taya and Mindy today? What are his feelings on being parodied in the latest Eminem video? And where does this show fit in his legacy?

We got to ask him about all this and more in his trailer after the Rock of Love Bus reunion finished airing. The location seemed only appropriate.

At the end of the Rock of Love Bus reunion taping last week, Bret declared it the “most emotional reunion ever.” The above clip is part of the reason why: in it, Mindy declares her love for Bret and her remorse over not telling him this while the season was filming. “I left my heart on the tour bus,” might be the best quote to come out of a highly quotable season. Really, the best response to that would be, “What the French?”
