For our second preview of the RuPaul’s Drag Race 2 ReUnion (airing Monday at 10:30/9:30 on Logo and Tuesday at 10/9c on VH1), we have a batch of anonymous quotes that were uttered over the course of the marathon taping earlier this month. Keep in mind that because so much footage was shot, not all of these may end up making it to air (hell, none of them may make it), but this at least should give you a taste of the hilarity and cattiness that the reunion promises to offer. Try to figure out who said what, and keep in mind that some of the dolls are quoted multiple times. (We’ll post the answers next week during our exhaustive on-set reunion coverage.)
RuPaul’s Drag Race 2 is going out with not one, but several bangs. Monday on Logo, after the finale (at 9/8c) and an all-new, scandalous Untucked (at 10/9c), a ReUnion is set to air (10:30/9:30c). (Note: On VH1, the finale will air Tuesday at 9/8c and the ReUnion will air at 10/9c.)We had the good fortune of attending the ReUnion taping. It was like stepping into another dimension: a wild world over the rainbow and around the bend, where no lacquer was shiny enough, where just one wig just wouldn’t do and where the Cheeto dust from the craft services table gave the fluorescence of the queens’ makeup a run for its money.
We’ll have plenty to share from our time on set, but as a little preview, check out the pictures below that we snapped of the various queens’ accessories and enhancements. Try to guess whose what is whose.
Posted above is Drag Ya Later, this week’s video recap of RuPaul’s Drag Race 2, featuring John Polly and Jon Mallow of Logo’s NewNowNext blog. Since this week’s episode is a clip show, so is the recap: compressed into just over two minutes are some of the greatest sound bites, poses and fashions of the season so far. Now’s your chance to relive golden child/shower all over again for the first time!
The Drag Race 2 reunion is set to air the same night as next week’s finale. For an extremely slight preview of that reunion show (which taped last week — we were there and it was amazing!), check an on-set shot of the Top 3 dolls below:
Posted above is Drag Ya Later, the video recap for Episode 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race 2, featuring John Polly and Jon Mallow of Logo’s NewNowNext blog. Divas, acceptance speeches, skinned Muppets and Tatum O’Neal (who isn’t a skinned Muppet) are all on the menu this week. NewNowNext also has a post-elimination interview with the show’s dearly departed, always ravishing Tatianna.
…you’re just dying to come inside.
Posted above is Drag Ya Later, this week’s video recap RuPaul’s Drag Race 2, featuring John Polly of Logo’s NewNowNext blog. There’s no episode on this week, and Jon Mallow’s out of town, but in a stroke of genius, John enlisted Season 1 darling Ongina to go over her thoughts on the entire season’s crop of queens. After all, the Drag Ya Later must go on!
The Drag Race coverage doesn’t end there, either. Head over to NewNowNext to read a Q&A with Pandora Boxx (whom, I think we all can agree, was robbed) and to catch RuPaul’s new video for “Devil Made Me Do It.” The devil is fierce, y’all! [NewNowNext]
Posted above is Drag Ya Later, the video recap for Episode 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race 2, featuring John Polly and Jon Mallow of Logo’s NewNowNext blog. In John’s words, it was “Shady Pines meets La Cage” this week, as the remaining Racers adopted drag mothers for their very own (Raven, being a Paris Hilton fanatic, of course carried hers around like a pet chihuahua). Also up for discussion this week: Debbie Reynolds’ favorite things, patriotic nudists packing rubber, an offhand Neil Diamond/Hollies reference and Raven’s obsession with Tatianna. NewNowNext also has an interview with this week’s sadly underrated and eliminated contestant Pandora Boxx. There’s also big news about RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 3. Start your engines now, in the comfort of your own home.
We’ve got something to show you…
Posted above is Drag Ya Later, the well-read video recap for Episode 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race 2, featuring John Polly and Jon Mallow of Logo’s NewNowNext blog. This week was about reading, writing and wrist-flinging, and the conversation follows accordingly. (Also discussed: a fascinating point on the behind-the-scenes sharing of drag essentials that seems to go on — are these queens keeping their enemies close, or just dressed inappropriately?) Also at NewNowNext is an interview with this week’s dearly departed eliminated contestant, Jessica Wild.
Did everyone bring their reading glasses?
