Often, there’s more news about VH1′s stars than we can keep up with, so we’re bringing you a weekly gossip roundup of all the news stories we may have missed earlier. Here are some of the stories making the rounds this week:
TMZ posted pics of La La and Carmelo Anthony (among many others of the 500 or so guests) at Kim Kardashian‘s wedding. [TMZ]
Ron Artest, partner of Basketball Wives L.A. star Kimsha Artest, made his debut on Dancing With The Stars this week but sadly was the first contestant voted off. He also successfully won a bid to change his name to Metta World Peace. [ESPN, Reality TV World]
T.O. is still in the process of rehabbing his knee and headed to Korea this week to receive stem cell therapy to aid his recovery. [SB Nation]
Things got awkward at the Saddle Ranch restaurant when Bristol Palin showed up to ride the mechanical bull and got an earful from some critics. [TMZ]
Basketball Wives L.A. star Gloria Govan gave Vibe.com a tour of her L.A. home [Vibe.com]
Gloria and fiance Matt Barnes also talk to Essence about their relationship, their real lives, and dealing with the haters. “You kind of want to slap them,” Gloria says. [Essence]
It’s the season finale of Saddle Ranch! Some doors are closing, others are opening. Kameron got Vajazzled and took four pregnancy tests. It’s a lot to process, but all I know is that I’m gonna miss these foul-mouthed, whiskey-swilling ragamuffins.
We’ve said it before, but Saddle Ranch is a secretly heartwarming show, and this episode was no different in the feel-good department. Except for when Rachel was kind of a downer. But besides that, it was all warm fuzzies!
What will become of Audrina Patridge and her boyfriend Corey Bohan, orLynn Patridge‘s tempestuous relationship with daughter Casey? How does bartender Robb plan to deal with moody Rachel, and will Hot Nick break up with Cassie before they even get their relationship off the ground?
Those are the questions we know you fans of Audrina and Saddle Ranchhave been dying to know, and it will all come to a head this Sunday night during the season finales of both shows. For the past ten weeks, we’ve certainly seen our fair share of (occasionally booze-filled) drama from these guys, but it’s time to say goodbye for now. Everyone’s liver needs a rest.
The Audrina season finale airs at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and then stay tuned for the final two episodes of Saddle Ranch, airing back-to-back at 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. But of course it’s not over until our recaps are posted, so make sure you check back for all our thoughts on these two shows on the VH1 Blog after the final credits roll.
On this episode of Saddle Ranch, a shot girl with a heart of gold gets her big break, and a bartender with a heart full of expletives gets mad at everyone (again). And everyone falls down.
“My Southern mother would die,” Nancee from Saddle Ranch told us as she imagined what she would look like with a bright red mohawk. “She would kill me if I did that.”
We had Nancee, a hairstylist, in our office giving all of her Saddle Ranch co-stars cardboard cut-out hair makeovers recently, and of course we weren’t going to let her leave without giving herself a fake makeover too (a fakeover?). After seeing what she’d look like with the mohawk, Nancee discovered the look that would delight her mother, saying “This is the hairstyle like, on my way to moving back to the South and marrying that uber-Christian, Southern boy that she really wants me to be with.” Watch the video to see which style would thrill her mom and which style makes her look, as she says “like I just Fat-Boothed myself.”
Check out Nancee and all her co-stars on Saddle Ranch Sunday nights at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
It’s always fun to follow celebrities on Twitter, but here at VH1, our on-air talent has taken Tweeting and turned it into an art form. Take the cast of Mob Wives, who went from not even having Twitter accounts seven weeks ago to having more than 100,000 followers now. Or the ladies from Basketball Wives, who keep us updated on all their t-shirt drama, even when the cameras aren’t rolling. (Not to mention the crossover love these women have for one another’s shows, which is kind of sweet.)
The point is, you should be following them, and to make it easy, we’ve taken the liberty of doing all the Twitter dirty work so you can follow everyone on the network just by checking our our comprehensive VH1 Twitterpedia below. Need to know the handles of the folks from the last season of Celebrity Rehab or You’re Cut Off? We’ve got all that and more. Check it. Click it. Re-Tweet it.
When Saddle Ranch star (and resident hairstylist) Nancee visited us last week, we had her give her co-stars some virtual new ‘dos, and she did not disappoint.
In the clip above, watch Nancee turn her friend (with occasional benefits?) Dave into a bad boy with “Bret Michaels hair” and then she gives feisty bartenderRachel a blazing red mohawk and explains “If any girl could pull off a mohawk it would be her, and she would tattoo the hell out of her head. She might have her head tattooed, I don’t know.” Later, Nancee changes her mind and gives Rachel a more mature style we were calling the Bea Arthur look, because she says “In about forty years I’d love to see Rachel in a walker with a cute little tatted up man next to her.”
Saddle Ranch airs Sunday nights at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Nancee from Saddle Ranch has become one of the most entertaining parts of the show for us these days. The aspiring hairstylist has won a bull-riding contest and a trip to Cabo this season, not to mention the fact that she has had an adorable flirtation with Dave the hot server. So we were psyched to have Nancee visit us in the office last week, and even more psyched that she agreed to give her co-workers a virtual makeover with some hairstyles we whipped up.
In the clip above, check out part one of Nancee’s makeovers where makes over Saddle Ranch manager Candy, who she says “likes the rock and roll boys.” (Admittedly, that came as a surprise to us because Candy just seems plain scary.) Then Nancee gives her buddy Noah a “sweet receding hairline,” which she says he’s going to look like in twenty years anyway. Check back next week for more of Nancee’s extreme co-star makeovers, and tune in to Saddle Ranch Sunday nights at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
We’ve seen the drama that can occur when Saddle Ranch star Rachel Lay gets a few drinks in her on the show (poor boyfriend Robb, always dealing with her messes), but now she’s managed to get herself in trouble with the law as well because of the booze. TMZ reports that Lay was arrested on March 9 in California for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of .22. She was scheduled to appear in front of a judge on March 23 but she skipped her court date and currently has a bench warrant out for her arrest.
Lay tells TMZ that she currently has a May 31st court date to address the issue. But does Saddle Ranch manager Candy give time off for court appearances, or will Rachel get written up for taking off work?
