tanedra_saw_vi

The next installment of the horror-actress reality competition Scream Queens is set to hit VH1 next year, and this time, the potential Queens will be competing for a role in Saw 3D (the next scheduled entry in the relentless franchise). Also new to the series: Jamie King is taking the role of group mentor. Peep the press release below for details!

Scream Queens 2 will take a new cadre of 10 aspiring actresses and give them the chance to win a breakthrough role in Saw 3D, the next film in Lionsgate’s Saw horror franchise. The reality competition series is produced by Lionsgate and Joke Productions, Inc. and is slated to premiere in 2010.

Season one winner Tanedra Howard was featured in the coveted and iconic “opening trap” scene in Saw VI, playing the character “Simone.” Due to her breakout performance and significant storyline, she is also expected to appear in future Lionsgate productions, a major coup for the previously undiscovered actress.

She was raw, and she was emotional, but ultimately, she was talented. And that is what won out in the end: Tanedra is VH1′s first Scream Queen! Below, the victorious actress gives us all the dirt she can on her role in Saw IV, talks about the bits of training she was able to sneak in before the show, mulls over defeating the reality-TV stigma and answers accusations of tokenisms that people have thrown at her because of her race. “They auditioned me and they liked me because of my talent not because, hey, let’s get her in here because we need a black…” she tells us. Indeed!

This week’s Scream Queens was low on the terror side — the exercises were all based on introspection (some of it P.O.V.-cam, Blair Witch-style…minus the snot). As though picking up the slack for the knives of slashers, the girls were, instead, at each other’s throats. Michelle, in particular, did as much as she could to play psychological Jigsaw on the girls, taunting them with her perceived superiority. It had the reverse effect on Lindsay, who used Michelle’s hubris as inspiration to humble her — Lindsay ended up named Leading Lady in the Director’s Challenge, which found the girls acting opposite their evil selves in a mirror. Angela, too, indulged in some beef, tearfully calling out the judges’ decision to award Michelle the Leading Lady designation last episode. But ultimately, the meat hook was turned on her as she was yanked from the show for just not having the chops. That leaves three ladies — Michelle, Lindsay and a vulnerable Tanedra (who stumbled this episode for the first time) — who’ll battle each other in the “Scream Queen gauntlet” in next week’s season finale.

Scream Queens‘ Jessica was tagged with the “crazy” label, and she seems more than happy to let her freak flag fly. Below, she talks about her crazy side, race relations in the Scream Queens house, the sexual tension amongst the girls and why she wasn’t so sad when it came time for her elimination. “On the show I would call the producers my therapists,” she tells us. Well, pull up a couch…

“In every show there is always someone who you love to hate. I personally don’t want to be that person,” Scream Queens cast-off Lina tells us below. And it’s true: on a show teeming with horror-movie monsters, Lina came off as a real-life villain. She’s been accused of racism and homophobia, and says she’s even received death threats, all of which she finds unfair. Below, she talks about her disenchantment with reality TV, and describes how she feels her sense of humor was distorted to make her seem hateful, when from her point of view, she’s merely sarcastic. Is she really offensive, or are people being too sensitive, perhaps too unsophisticated for her subtle humor? Read her explanation below and you be the judge:
