SUMMER NIGHTS JUST GOT HOTTER WITH VH1’S ALL-NEW SERIES AND RETURNING FAVORITES
NEW YORK, NY – April 28, 2011 – VH1 is turning up the heat this summer with all-new series, returning favorites and unforgettable musical performances. With the network’s first hour-long scripted series Single Ladies, never-before-seen performances on VH1 Storytellers and Unplugged as well as thrilling new programming including Famous Food, Basketball Wives Season Three and LaLa’s Full Court Life, this summer is sure to be muy fuego on VH1.
Did you hear the news? In a match made in VH1 heaven, Terrell Owens will be joining his friendly rival Chad Ochocinco as a wide receiver on the Cincinnati Bengals this season. The two have been duking it out for Sunday night supremacy as the stars of The T.O. Show and Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch for the last few weeks, but come Sundays this fall, the two longtime friends will both be sporting orange and black uniforms, standing on the same sideline and doing everything they can to take the Bengals to the Super Bowl.
However, the T.O. era in Cincinnati got off to a bumpy start this morning. Reports out of Georgetown, KY — where the Bengals are holding their pre-season practices — say that T.O. missed his flight last night, resulting in him not being able to attend this morning’s practice or his scheduled 11 a.m. press conference. Never fear, though, the press conference has been rescheduled for later tonight, at which point in time we’ll get to see T.O. don a Bengals jersey for the first time. Let’s just hope that T.O. makes his next flight!
Well, sort of. You see, we caught up with Terrell Owens, star of The T.O. Show, and Chad Ochocinco, star of Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch, in Harlem’s legendary Rucker Park the other night for a spirited game of basketball. Well, sort of; Chad didn’t actually end up playing. Instead, he coached his team from the sidelines. Still, that didn’t stop T.O. and Chad from wagering a small bet on the outcome. Specifically, the losing side would have to do 85 (get it?) push-ups at center court? Find out who won by watching the video above!
The second season of The T.O. Show and Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch (formerly known as The Tournament) won’t hit VH1 till July, but a promo featuring both titular sports figures has already arrived. In it, Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocino (whom you may recognize from Dancing With the Stars)attempt to one-up each other on their reality show qualifications. Two sports heroes living the American dream, at long last.
It’s official! VH1 is turning Basketball Wives, which premiered Sunday, into a franchise. Next up is a “behind-the-scenes look at the glamorous life of the better halves of professional football’s most elite players.” We can’t yet announce any of the Football Wives cast members, but the 30-minute show will run for eight episodes and will premiere later this year. And for more football-related goodness we have the second season of The T.O. Show and a new dating show with Chad Ocho Cinco coming up in July. Official Football Wives press release after the jump.
