January first means two things to most people: Hangovers and resolutions to never drink again. Or resolutions to never consume something again, be it alcohol, chocolate, entire pies in one sitting…whatever. But a lot of the folks who make up our VH1 family look at the bigger picture when they make their resolutions, and we’re excited that they shared them with us in time for the new year. So check out our list and see who’s resolving to “show their inner rock star,” who plans to give back to their community, and who didn’t make any resolutions at all.
Gloria Govan, Basketball Wives L.A.: My New Year’s resolution is to stop being late, and to work on being on time and making deadlines. lol
Malaysia Pargo, Basketball Wives L.A.: To follow my first mind always…

As an outsider watching a show, we never quite know what scenes are really “real,” what’s staged to help move the plot along, or whether or not certain trips our casts take are truly enjoyable for all involved parties. (cough*Basketball Wives*cough) At the very least, we now know what scenes were most fun for the stars who were in them. We asked the casts of several of our shows which moments were their favorites to film, and the answers are surprising. (Seems like that Basketball Wives L.A. Hawaii trip was more fun than it seemed!) Read on to find out how they answered.

So much has happened in the past year that even just thinking back six months feels like a lifetime ago. But for a lot of our VH1 stars, 2011 was the year that they hit it big and their shows premiered on the network and they were beamed into our homes. When I asked some of our talent what the best news of the year was to them, almost no one went with actual news news, rather, everyone here celebrated their personal and professional triumphs, and rightly so. This is a successful group, and they’re proud of their accomplishments. Let’s see what they all had to say about the best thing they heard all year. (And of course there had to be a smartass in the group…OLIVIA.)

It’s been an interesting task, compiling these year-end lists from the stars on our network. No doubt they’re an eclectic group with vastly different tastes and interests, but one thing that unites them all is their love of Twitter. Each and every one of the stars we’ve spoken to have a Twitter account and follow it religiously, which is why we love their responses when we asked them who their favorite person is on the social site. It may not surprise you to hear that @Oprah was a biggie amongst our stars, but even more popular than Opes herself? Reverend Run (@RevRunWisdom). Check out our full list of favorites below.

Who made a lasting impression on you this year? Was it Steve Jobs, or Seal Team Six, or maybe just Lady Gaga (because of her Thanksgiving Special, obviously)? We asked some of our favorite VH1 celebs who they consider to be their 2011 Person Of The Year, and while there are some usual suspects on the list, we love that there’s a lot of family on here too. Check out who made the list below.

Master Matchmaker Steve Ward is back for a third season of Tough Love, and this time he’s traveled south to Miami where the heat is definitely on. Steve will be giving us his thoughts on every episode. This week, we look back on the reunion episode and the season overall, and Steve gives his frank assessment of who changed over the course of boot camp, and who reverted back to their old ways.

For the first time ever, a cast of Tough Love has been brought together for a reunion episode, and as reunions go, this one did not disappoint.

When we spoke to Tough Love matchmaker Steve Ward a couple weeks ago, he told us he was a little nervous to take his off-the-cuff hosting style to a more formal setting in front of an audience, but hey, he’s Steve Ward, he knows what he’s doing, audience or not, and he certainly pulled out a lot of juicy info about this cast that we’ve been dying to know. So without further hesitation, let’s see where all the women are these days. The first to be in the hot seat was Chasity and her brand new, um, dress. Which is also filled with new boobs.

December is full of “Best Of” lists, usually written by critics, but here at VH1, we’re doing things a little differently. For the next week and a half, we’re going to be rolling out the Best Of lists as determined by our talent, the people you love to watch on our shows, and we’ve asked them all what they think were the best films, songs, and people of the past year. Our first category? Favorite film. Check after the jump to see what all your favorite stars from Basketball Wives, Love And Hip Hop, Why Am I Still Single?!, Tough Love, and more, have to say about their favorite flicks, and stay tuned all week for even more lists. We’ve been surprised by the responses so far, and we think you will be too. But one thing is for sure…everyone loved Bridesmaids.

Have you ever noticed that your favorite VH1 stars have a habit of reusing some of the same phrases over and over again? One such phrase that we’ve noticed is a favorite on almost every show is “At the end of the day.” And now that it’s the end of the year, we made a supercut (correction: our fantastic and hilarious video editors made a supercut) of every mention of this particular turn of phrase that we could find. We’re sure there are more references out there, but at the end of the day, who has the time to go back and find every single one? We hope you enjoy it no matter what time of day it is.
